So you’ve heard you should be emailing college coaches to get recruited, huh? Well you’ve come to the right place.
If you’ve read some of my other articles here at CAI you’ll know that emailing a college coach is the best way to get in contact with them.
The problem is finding their email address. Thankfully the internet and google is a thing.
In this article I’ll go through the exact steps you need to take to find any college coaches email address.
What to Email a College Coach
I’ve found through personal experience and with helping families going through the recruiting process that coaches generally respond to an email if you do these 5 things:
- Include their name – Coach Smith,
- Include the schools name – Stanford University
- Make it personal – Show you’ve done your research
- Don’t have a lot of grammar mistakes – Makes a good first impression
- Use the correct email format – Include the right details in your message

Not all coaches will respond or be interested in your abilities. That’s alright because it means you’re one step closer to finding the perfect fit.
I recommend to the families I work with that they reach out to at least one new college coach everyday. This takes 5 minutes and is easier than doing a bunch in one sitting.
Let’s jump in to how to find these coaches email addresses.
How to Find Any College Coaches Email Address
There are a few ways to go about this, but I have found this to be the fastest and easiest way.
Step 1:
You’ll want to head over to a search engine.
Search for: School + Gender + Sport + Coaching Staff
This should be pretty straightforward.
Step 2:
The results will come up and you’ll want to click on the schools official page.
Your link should look similar to the image above (adjusted for your sport and school of course).
It’s almost always the 1st or 2nd result that shows up.
Step 3
All of the coaches information will be there. Name, role on the staff, office phone number, and our coveted email address.
Some of the main coaches (especially the head coach) won’t have all of their information listed. That’s alright.
I would recommend reaching out to the assistant coaches first anyway. Try to find your position coach or the one that recruits your area.
You should be able to click on the coaches name to learn more about them. This will be helpful when writing your email.
